“The Onion Seller” is a statue in the Peace Park just off the Grand Parade which I have never really taken much notice of I must admit.  This statue by Cork Sculptor Seamus Murphy was presented by the Sunbeam Wolsey back in 1985 so it’s been there as long as I can remember.  Seamus Murphy died in 1975 but the website bearing his name has an interesting biography.  Last year was the centenary of his birth but events organsied to mark this seemed to have passed me by unfortunately.
