Daffodils and Rowers

Daffodils are in bloom at the moment which is the only sign of spring that we have with this really cold weather at the moment.  Rowers get ready to get out on the water and there’s a bit of a queue forming at Lee Rowing Club.

Rowing on the Lee

The Cork Head of the River took place on Saturday as I mentioned yesterday.   The course starts almost up at the Port of Cork sign and goes all the way down to Blackrock Castle if memory serves me correctly.  The yellow boat is unusual in that it has 8 scullers, called an octuple according to somebody on Wikipedia.  These girls must have been fairly new to rowing as they were getting passed out by the single sculls on the inside.  The weather had turned by now although the wind was with the rowers over the course which probably helped those rowing in the afternoon.

Metropole

The Metropole and PJ O’Hea reflected in the River Lee at night.   It’s great to see more Irish businesses use the increasingly popular .ie domain.
