Last year, I posted a photo from the Lee Swim and said I’d do it this year.  Well, I’m all signed up to do it but unfortunately I’ve been out of work sick this week for a couple of days and there’s no way I could take part.  I’d only pick up something else if I tried.  So I’m going to be there again with my camera.  I wish I could take part because I actually enjoyed the swim part of last weeks triathlon, which is unusual for me!

This guy was feeling the heat at the Cork City Marathon this year.  This was out at Dunkettle only about 6 or 7 miles in with a long way to go.  I hope this doesn’t happen to me tomorrow at the Lough Ine Triathlon but it looks like tomorrow is going to be wet and windy.  Yikes!

These guys were quite close to shore but it looks a blast.  I was on one of the Safari trips during the summer which was great fun, if a bit wet.  Too wet for camera equipment anyway!

Last weekend my local hurling team Sarsfields won the Cork County Championship beating Bride Rovers by a single point.  Glanmire has been bedecked in the colours of Sars including abandoned cars painted with good wishes.

Taken at the Cork City vs FC Haka European qualifier at Turner’s Cross in July.  Unfortunately City lost out over the two legs although we hit the cross bar and post a number of times in this game.

In recent years the traditional Lee Swim has been re-instated.  I was almost convinced to do it this year but didn’t do so in the end.  I might do it next year though, which seems an awful long way off at the moment…  Above, one of the competitors swims under the quite recently built Cornmarket Street Bridge while spectators enjoy the sunshine.  Sometimes, just watching an event can be enough!
