Well done to Chris Mocko for winning the Cork City Marathon yesterday. RTE have a good article about him here. My full set of photos are up on Flickr where I got most people going through Dunkettle Roundabout.
]]>Seeing as my last post from 8 years ago was about music, here’s the Roaring Forties who we spotted playing in Fota a few years ago now.
]]>DJ Yoda played in Cork as part of the Coors Light Peak tour. I usually keep these music posts over on my main blog but I thought I’d throw up a photo to mark the occasion. What a great gig! Have a look on Youtube for some of his tracks, what a genius.
]]>The Beamish and Crawford brewery on South Main St which closed earlier this year. Beamish is now (I think) brewed over in the Heineken brewery on the other side of the city along with fellow Cork stout Murphy’s. I wonder how Heineken will treat the two stouts which are in competition with each in other in the Cork/Munster area. I switch between the two to be honest and always recommend them above Guinness to foreign visitors looking for that quintessential Irish pint.
]]>As I mentioned on the previous photo of the unique Shaky Bridge, it is a must for everybody in Cork with a camera. With this shot I tried to get a different view of the bridge on a fantastic sunny September afternoon.
]]>An interesting statue in Fitzgerald’s Park by James Horan just outside the museum which is well worth a visit. They even have a signed Man Utd Keano jersey!
]]>The oft-photographed Shaky Bridge up at Fitzgerald’s Park from this weekend.
]]>This weekend was such a scorcher that we had a picnic in Fitzgerald’s Park. Since the last time we were up there, these flowers have really come from nowhere.
]]>A few weeks ago I was rushing along to see the Lee Swim when I came across the Leichardt Brass Band playing outside the Cork City Library. It’s great to see unexpected public performances of music.
]]>At the recent Cork City Marathon, there came a point where there was a big mass of runners. These were just some of those bunched up. My full set of photos from the day are on Flickr.
