Michel Jewellers on Pana, or Patrick Street to all you non-Corkonians.  Can’t say I’ve ever been in there but then I’m not much of a jewellery man.

I took this photo a while back because I thought it odd that a stand on abortion and protection of the unborn child was staffed only by males.  As I passed, there was a good mix of women and men at the stand.

Shandon Tower in the distance which is now visible from Patrick Street after the demolition of the building across from the Half Moon.  I’m sure something will take its place and block the view again!

In fact, beware of 20 foot tall green eyed monsters!   This charming fellow was at the end of the Patrick’s Day parade in Cork on Monday.

Happy St Patrick’s Day from all on Patrick’s Street today in Cork.  Would you believe that it didn’t rain!?  It was bitterly cold but the lack of rain meant a bumper crowd in town for the parade today.

“Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year” as Gaeilge.  I like the way these lamps on Patrick Street are used throughout the year for practical purposes although I wasn’t a fan of them when they were first installed.

The site of the old Dunnes Stores on Patrick Street.  The front of the building remains the same but the rest of the building is gone, like a lot of old buildings in Cork at the moment.

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the first post on Pana-Vision, or as I like to call it A Vision of Pana, or Patrick Street in Cork slang as described so eloquently by Sean Beecher.   There will be minimal writing here as it will be a photo-a-day photoblog but I would appreciate any comments you give me so check back every now and again to see Cork being catalogued in photos (like that hasn’t been done before ).
